SAFARI Montage 3.1.4 Release Notes

Updates and Fixes

Playback

  • Corrected an issue in which attempting to play a QuickTime video in the Apple Safari browser on OS X 10.5 would cause the browser to crash.

Network Settings

  • Corrected an issue with entering DNS information into the Admin > Settings > Network page. The information was not being saved.

Security Fix

  • Corrected a reported issue in which HTML code could be temporarily embedded into the login page.

Content Drives

  • Added support for new SAFARI Montage Content Drive configurations.

What's New in SAFARI Montage 3.1

SAFARI Montage Hardware Support

  • Support has been added for the following SAFARI Montage hardware platforms: T-400, RM-400, RM-800 and WAN-1000 products. In other words, SAFARI Montage 3.0-specific features will run on these platforms.

Datacasting

  • Support for Wisconsin Public Television's datacasting network

Server Maintenance

  • New features to better recover from unexpected power outages, hard reboots, and database corruption

Updates

CreationStation

  • WAN Manager virtual school shared content update.  CreationStation files are now correctly published and shared within the district.
  • Corrected an issue where non-admins editing a CreationStation title while connected to an expansion server were redirected to the controller.
  • Removed restriction of 2GB upload for CreationStation content.

Promethean Flipcharts

  • Updates to further support Promethean's FlipChart file format (.flp).
  • The CreationStation logo on the dashboard is now hyper-linked to the upload page for users who have permission to view and upload FlipChart files.

Database Enhancements

  • Various improvements to enhance database performance, and search request response times.

Other Updates & Fixes

Expansion Server

  • Fix to handle video syncing issue across expansion servers

Selective Video Streaming

  • Removed URL validation for streams. Now relies on administrators to enter valid URL's.

State Standards

  • State Standards are now set at the server level, and are no longer configurable at the school level.

Help System

  • The SAFARI Montage Help system has been updated to reflect recent changes and additions to the product and user interface.
